Daydream to reality

Welcome to my crochet daydreams…

I am based in the UK , mum to a teenager and I work as a full time Paediatric Nurse. Life is busy and my work over the last 25 years has been wonderfully fulfilling. Finding the balance though has been difficult. The stress and demand of my work can be overwhelming. I began to forget about me and what  I needed to be happy and complete. I knew I needed to slow down.

That’s when I started to daydream…

 About Crochet….

​

A friend gave me a ball of wool and some hooks and on March 14th, 2025 i made my first chain and a few wobbly rows of single crochet. The next day I did a granny square and then I was hooked!

Hours and hours spent watching videos of crochet artists effortlessly creating beautiful pieces, mesmerised by the hook gliding through bouncy, lush colourful yarns. I studied patterns and anatomy of stitches, dreaming that one day I might be able to do that too. 

Crochet daydreams of soft jumpers  and accessories, cosy home furnishings, comforting gifts for friends and family.  My mind wandered to themes of fairytale and woodland magic, rustic cottage style charm, nature and the elements. Daydreams of having a website and a shop to share and sell my work. Dreaming of a world away from the reality of my everyday.

                                                     

All of a sudden, I’m here. Grateful for everything in my life and knowing that I can lead a full busy life and still make time to slow down and be me. I’m so happy to be in a place to begin to realise this dream and see where this path will lead. Hopefully you will enjoy sharing the journey with me.
